Facial peel – exfoliation of epidermis during home therapy

The secret of many women who can boast of healthy and smooth skin lies in regular peel treatments performed not only at the beauty salon, but also at home. This is why a facial peel, properly selected to the skin type, should be found on every bathroom shelf. Regularity is significant in this case – thus treat “exfoliation” as a permanent feature in your beauty plan. Here you will find out which peel is perfect for you!

ABCs of peels

Skin regeneration lasts about 4 weeks. This is the time when new cells appear in the deepest layer of the epidermis. They gradually move towards its surface, are dehydrated and are prone to keratosis. In the last phase, they die and exfoliate as a result of being pushed by other cells. Along with age, this process extends and can run slower because of prolonged stress, fatigue and adverse influence of external factors. Dead cells accumulate on the surface of the epidermis, which results in skin becoming mat, coarse and lacking gloss.

Facial peel – how does it work?

This is the peel that helps the skin to get rid of accumulated dead cells, thereby smoothing and brightening it. The peel stimulates faster regeneration and at the same time it opens the sebaceous glands, which results in removal of sebum excess. This treatment improves the general condition of skin and increases absorption of active ingredients present in other cosmetics, which, in turn, raises their efficiency.

Stronger activity – peel treatment at beauty salon

Each preparation, including peel, should be selected taking into account the needs and type of your skin. In case of particular skin problems, it is worth having a specialized treatment performed with the use of a peel dedicated to e.g. brightening of discolorations, acne, evening out of wrinkles.  Here, you advisor is a beautician performing the treatment, who will assess the skin condition, will plan treatments and proper therapies.

Enzymatic peel

For sensitive, delicate, irritation-prone and couperose skin, we recommend an enzymatic peel with gel, slightly granular consistency. In this composition, there is a fruity, refreshing biocomplex of papaya, pineapple and mango, distinguished by natural enzymes. It smooths the skin, does not irritate it and gently removes dead cells. The enzymes present in the peel function only in an aquatic environment, thus the peel cannot dry while being applied. It can be resolved with face skin massage using a little bit of water. Finally, apply your favorite mask.

Crystal peel

For women who have mature skin or skin with disturbed activity of sebaceous glands, we recommend using facial crystal peel with the “intelligent microdermabrasion effect”. It consists of a complex of mandelic, azelaic and salicylic acids and corundum dust, which unblock the openings of sebaceous glands. As a result, they clean, smooth and brighten each type of skin. The peel is applied for 3-5 minutes, allowing the acids to loosen the connections between the epidermis cells. Then gently massage the skin, mechanically exfoliating the epidermis. Apply a selected mask from the Arkana range on the cleaned skin.

Frequency and recommendations

It is important that the peel should be performed at home following the recommendations of the cosmetics’ producer. Usually the peel is applied once a week; however, according to the recommendations the frequency can be lower or higher. Too frequent peels can result in hydrolipid coat damage, irritations and skin dryness.

Should you have any doubts, you can always contact your beautician or the producer. The cosmetics which you have chosen are developed and selected with you and beautiful effects on your skin in mind!
