In the spring and summer period, don’t give up treatments with acids in your beauty salon. Choose the right one for your client’s skin needs and make him aware of the importance of home care in order to maintain and enhance the effects. Below we suggest which acids can be safely used in the period of greater sun exposure.
For the most demanding clients
Lactobionic acid is an extremely delicate acid that is recommended for skins intolerant to other chemical peels. Applied to the skin, it does not cause additional irritation or subjective sensations such as itching or burning. Despite its delicacy, it acts as a peel – it exfoliates the stratum corneum, but in a way that is invisible to the eye. It is suitable for extremely sensitive skin (capillary, with erythema), with dermatoses of various etiologies: atopic dermatitis, rosacea and ordinary acne, seborrheic dermatitis and contact eczema. It also supports the skin during and after treatment with retinoids and steroids, or after dermal aesthetic treatments, thanks to which it accelerates the regeneration process and soothes irritations. In addition to soothing properties, it also has the ability to bind and retain water in the epidermis. Perfect for the care of skin damaged by excessive sun exposure, dry and dehydrated. In addition, lactobionic acid inhibits matrix metalloproteinases – it stops the degradation of collagen and elastin, and also seals blood vessels and prevents the formation of telangiectasia. It is also a strong antioxidant and metal chelator, thus delaying the chronological aging of the skin. The Lactobionic Therapy treatment can be used as an independent exfoliation treatment or in combination with other ARKANA treatments. The line also includes home care products that both prepare the skin for the treatment and continue after-treatment care.
Sensitive and acne-prone skin
Azelaic acid is recommended for sensitive, capillary skin with a tendency to erythema. Its action is similar to AHA acids, but it is more delicate. It effectively inhibits the development of common and rosacea, and also reduces discoloration, especially those that are inflammatory. It has a sebo-regulating effect, reduces the sebaceous glands. It works well with inflammation of the hair follicles. The AzAc Peel chemical peel is unique in the combination of azelaic acid with mandelic, lactic and salicylic acids, which additionally enhance the bacteriostatic, keratolytic and keratoplastic effects. In home care after the treatment, it is recommended to use products from the series that will strengthen the effect of peeling made in the office – AzAc Solution and AzAc Forte 15% Cream – a cream reinforced with azeloglycine.
The most popular treatment
The most popular acid is mandelic acid. It has the strongest antibacterial properties of all AHA acids. It works well with virtually all skin types: sensitive, but also acne-prone or mature. It has a sebo-regulating and bacteriostatic effect, and also lightens discoloration. It has an anti-aging effect, stimulates the production of collagen, which makes the skin more elastic and firm. It can be used as a preparation for the subsequent AzAc Peel treatment. ARKANA offers 50% Mandelic Forte Peel enriched with an agent that increases acid penetration. As a continuation in home care for the night, Mandelic Recovery Cream is recommended.
Fight against imperfections
Shikimic acid is the best solution for skin with imperfections, impure and discoloration. The 5% concentration of shikimic acid corresponds to 50% of glycolic acid and is not irritating. Importantly, shikimic acid not only normalizes the skin by regulating the secretion of sebum, but also binds water. In addition, it has a bacteriostatic and antifungal effect, which has a positive effect on the reconstruction of the skin microbiome. It also reduces the susceptibility to inflammation and skin imperfections. ARKANA offers shikimic acid incorporated into the A-QS Hacker Therapy line, which also includes Quora Noni PRCF, which is an intelligent dermo-hacker that blocks communication between bacteria that disrupt the skin microbiome and cause acne changes.
The power of hydration
The acid that strongly hydrates the skin is lactic acid. Provides in-depth hydration of the skin, thus improving its tension and making the skin elastic. Additionally, it stimulates the production of ceramides by rebuilding the hydrolipid coat. It also influences collagen synthesis, smoothing wrinkles. It has antibacterial properties and helps to reduce acne lesions. Brightens the skin for a healthier and younger look. ARKANA uses the power of lactic acid in the Neuro GABA & NANA treatment, where, in combination with GABA and NANA neuroamino acids, it strongly lifts mature skin, giving the effect of visibly younger skin.
Protection against UVA and UVA radiation
Remember to recommend the client to use a cream with a protective filter. The skin reactions are individual, so it is worth supporting the care of Sun Protect Cream SPF 50+ after each treatment with acids. Cream with an eco-formula has a light consistency, leaving no white film on the skin. It protects the skin against UVA and UVB radiation, preventing discoloration and irritation. It can be used under make-up and on ARKANA care creams, it does not show comedogenic effects.
